Robert DE LAIRE
Robert DE LAIRE

Robert de Laire is the descendant and heir of Georges de Laire, founder in 1876 of the Fabriques De Laire, a company of organic chemical products for perfumery and pharmacy.

In 1950, at the age of 23, Robert de Laire joined the family company as an apprentice chemist and became its president in 1969. Surrounded by his two brothers, Edgar and Antoine, he will face the major challenges of the company, confronted to the industrial development of the perfume industry, and will also pursue the research of new chemical processes. He left the company in 1987 after the sale of the company to Lautier-Florasynth.

The synthetic odorous bodies and the famous “bases” of the Fabriques De Laire, valued for their quality and originality, have greatly contributed to the development of the beautiful perfumery of the 20th century.

Robert de Laire passed away on August 22nd, 2020 at the age of 93. He offers us here an ultimate and important testimony of a life at the service of perfume.
